ERF description: On 13 November, a package containing radioactive material for radiopharmaceutical use has been lost during its transport between Paris-Roissy (France) and Budapest (Hungary) airports.
This package contains a limited quantity of thallium 201 (30,8 Gigabequerels). The consignor is CIS Bio International (France), and the carrier, the MALEV Company.
Up to now, the package remains lost despite provisions taken by the MALEV company.
The competent authority of France has informed the competent authority of Hungary and notified this event to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Due to the loss of a radioactive package, the competent authority of France rated this event at level one on the INES scale.
