Reactor trip on adjuster rod cooling flow very low

Unit was operating at 220 MWe. Moderator purification Column IX-1 draining with air was in progress as per procedure. Adjuster rod low flow alarm appeared. Moderator pump no. 1 and 5 were observed to be drawing less current. Moderator pump 2 came on Auto due to low flow. Increase in calandria level and cover gas pressure was observed. Calandria level increased from 95.4% full tank to 97.8% full tank and cover gas pressure increased from 0-23 kg/cm2 to 0.48 kg/cm2. Reactor power reduction was started. Meanwhile reactor tripped on adjuster rod low flow. It is suspected that during ion exchange column draining air entered into the moderator system which reduced the moderator flow and reactor trip on adjuster rod low flow. The event is rated at level 0 on INES.
