ERF description: Unit 2 at rated power. During the operation an inserting of control rods was signalled, reactor power decreased but no reason was signalled. On the board of APC a "trip of MCP" was signalled. Considerig the APC does not work correctly operators switched it off. After that the actuation of reactor protection of 3rd class was signalled due to "MCP trip", but the control rods were not inserted into the core. Automatics of secondary circuit operated correctly. After investigations it was concluded that the most likely reason of this event was short-time spurious signal "MCP-trip" caused by faulty relay of reactor protection system of 3rd class.
