Uit de publicatie:

New regulations on Radiological Protection came into force on 1 January 1986.
These 'Ionising Radiations Regulations 1985' affect all work places where radioactive
materials and radiation generators (eg X-ray sets) are used, including hospitals,
industrial radiographic units and nuclear power stations.
By law there must be strict controls to minimise exposure of workers and to ensure
a safe working environment.
The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) regularly reviews
standards for the control of radiation exposure at work and makes recommendations.
These recommendations have an impact, via EEC directives, on UK legislation such
as the Health and Safety at Work Act and its subordinate Regulations.
