I would first like to take this opportunity to thank those who have invited me to 
this congress and would like to make it clear that I heartily endorse the resolution 
to ban nuclear power from the Netherlands. As for my own credentials to talk 
about such a complicated subject as Reprocessing, I am afraid I will have to 
disappoint you. I am no expert, having studied as a biologist, and then not on 
radiation problems but simply on the metabolism of diapausing silk moths and 
on the consequences of tinkering with tiny glands in their brains on their sex life. 
For the past ten years, however, not only have I been battling with the elements 
in running my small farm in Cornwall, I have been actively involved in the 
nuclear power debate in Britain.
