Uit de publicatie:
This Is How Nuclear Waste Management Is Financed in Sweden The National Board for Spent Nuclear Fuel, SKN, is a government agency. One of our tasks is to supervise and evaluate the research and development programmes proposed by the nuclear power utilities for the handling and disposal of spent nuclear fuel and for the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. Another task is to handle issues relating to the funding of nuclear waste management. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that the public is granted insight into work on the safe disposal of spent nuclear fuel. For this reason, the Board issues short publications on these issues. This publication describes how the handling and disposal of nuclear waste are financed. Information is provided on how the costs relating to the waste are covered by fees and how these fees are calculated. We also provide information on which facilities, systems and measures have already been financed by the fees and which will be financed by the reserves which are being built up with the help of the fees.
