REPORT OF INTERSESSIONAL ACTIVITIES RELATING TO THE DISPOSAL OF RADIOACTIVE WASTES AT SEA, INCLUDING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE SCIENTIFIC REVIEW Report* of Expanded Panel Meeting Note by the Secretariat 1 The Eighth Consultative Meeting of Contracting Parties agreed that a review should be carried out on scientific and technical considerations relevant to proposals for the amendment of the Annexes to the London Dumping Convention related to radioactive waste dumping. It was further agreed that a panel of independent scientists should prepare a basic document as a result of their review, and that a so-called "Expanded Panel of Experts" (including experts from governments and international organizations) should prepare a final report for submission to the Ninth Consultative Meeting. 2 The Expanded Panel of Experts met at IMO Headquarters, London, from 3 to 7 June 1985. The report of the expanded panel is attached hereto.
