From the publication:
Summary Britain has been using nuclear power to produce electricity since 1956. Today over 20% of our electricity comes from this source. Britain already has more than 20 years experience of operating fast reactors. The PFR at Dounreay commissioned in 1976, is a 250 megawatt design. A full size commercial station of 1200 MN has been built in France. The British fusion research effort is part of a European programme under the auspices of Euratom. The centre-piece of this programme is the JET (Joint European Torus) device at Culham in Oxfordshire. After JET the next step could be a demonstration fusion reactor.
