This artbook was born of our collective experience with nuclear weapons. Artists and designers from Japan and elsewhere have come together in a collaborative effort. In our search for the shortest path to a nuclear-weapon-free world, we found one obvious shape it could take: all countries sign and ratify a nuclear weapons convention. We created this book to help ourselves and others understand what that means. But working on this book, facing the huge issue of nuclear weapons, we spent some time in chaos. Why can't people just stop making weapons and killing each other? What is justice? What is evil? What is human? Is abolition the answer? As we tried to answer the unanswerable, what we found most hopeful was this search-the thinking about it. Looking for an answer is one step we can take NOW toward nukelessness. We are creating our future, but because we have no answers, the purpose of this book is to help us all think or imagine what sort of future we want.We want all our friends around the world imagining with us. Please don't look at this as a textbook. It's more like a guidebook to help me think about my future, while you think about yours.
