From the publication:
Preface We help you see materials from the inside Follow medical processes in the human body, study safe hydrogen storage in complex metal structures for car design, follow the phase transition of foodstuff to improve their taste, detect plastic landmines in the ground or unravel coast formation for a safer Netherlands, these are just some examples of studies at the Reactor Institute Delft (RID). Unexpected large diversity of application is the first thing you experience while getting to know the RID better. The RID is part of the faculty of applied sciences of the TU Delft. This scientific setting enables that the limits of measurement are sought and that developments are pushed beyond already existing limits. Although many successful applications have been developed, there are still many others to discover. This brochure shows that the analytical methods at the RID are applicable to many different areas, also outside the scientific world. To see inside we use a variety of radiation types: neutrons, positrons, gamma's. In the last 40 years we have built up large expertise in this area, so that we can work safely with it. Furthermore we offer accredited health physics courses, to enable you to perform the lab analyses with radiation by yourself if wanted. We herewith offer you our services because, when seeing materials from the inside is concerned, we are convinced that we can contribute in a unique way to your innovation!*) Estimated date
